Live in Care Work Training

Induction Training

All PAs complete our comprehensive 5 day training programme before working with clients. This course covers every aspect of caring for a physically disabled client meeting the standards of Skills for Care/TOPSS. On successful completion of the course you will be awarded a certificate of competence. Spinal Homecare cover the costs of this induction including accommodation.

On completion of the induction course the PA will have a good understanding of the company and how to meet our clients’ needs as well as hands on experience of using any specialist equipment required (e.g. hoists, wheelchairs etc).

Ongoing Training

In Line with CSCI and Care Commission Scotland as a PA you will receive regular ongoing support from our experienced management team whilst working. You will also be given the option of further training, which will be identified during your regular ongoing supervision/appraisals.

Future development

We are keen to develop and promote our staff where possible; there are opportunities for promotion through the companies various levels of management. Examples of this are some of our Regional Managers who started working for our organisation as live-in PAs.
